P5: Record an extract of the planned radio programme
Below are images of me setting up and testing the equipment in the recording studio just before we started to record the radio show.
Here is my finished radio show
Here is a 5 minute extract of my radio show, which contains key conventions
In this clip, I used a radio sweeper, a radio ident, a music bed, and presented with a more relaxed tone. I presented in more of a relaxed and positive tone because the topic was a film review which is not a serious issue, therefore I and the guests had to the freedom to be relaxed and cheerful about recording. This clip is the first 5 minutes of my radio show, and at the end, you will hear the beginning of a music break with a song starting to play.
I included a radio sweeper because it reminds the listeners of what they are listening to, I have included them a few times in my production however there is only one in this extract. It also helps to keep the name of the show and radio station in mind so they are more likely to remember the names so they can then tune in for the next ones. I also included a radio ident as well to let the audience get to know a bit about my interests and personality while letting them know who I am and that I am going to be presenting film hour. This allows the listeners to get familiar with me and will eventually recognise me as a presenter, and the very opening of my radio ident would let them know and remind them that I will be presenting next, which is why I put it at the very beginning of my production. I added a nice cheerful music bed so it isn't just people talking, as that can be a bit boring, but with the music bed in the background, it helps to bring a more positive reaction to the production by making have a more positive mood and feel to it.
