My non-sensationalist version of this article:
Woman drives onto the beach when the tide is in, the police help her get out of the car before it rolls into the sea since the breaks were off.
A Chief inspector helps women out of car stuck in the water about to roll into the Georges River
The police think that she was on drugs when she drove into the river trying to get away from them at just past 2pm.

The police were called about report of a domestic violence near to where the woman in the car lived.
A police helicopter films the police as they park their cars at the edge of the pier and swim after the car stuck in the water.
The car was slowly sinking in the water so the chief inspector decided to swim faster to the car door to open it and help her out.
He got the women's attention to open the car window while he was trying to open the door.

A second officer swims up and gives the Chief a police stick. The chief uses the stick the break the window.
The women's leg was caught and she was pulled under water for a second as the car sank before the chief helped her leg free.
The four officers that got into the river to aid the Chief arrived and got the women out of the water.
The women was then taken to Bankstown Police Station where a paramedic treat her for minor injuries, which clearly did not require her to go to the actual hospital.

The Chief inspector is at Bankstown Hospital as he cut his wrist, the cut is being treated and has a chance that it may need to be stitched.
