Instagram: which is better? (website vs. app)

When I compare the website with the app I have noticed that the website is not as well structured as the app is. On the website, they have lots of empty space on either sides of the feed, whereas the app fills up the whole screen. The stories section is neatly put at the top to keep things tidy, but on the website, it is just put at the side and seems out of place. I have also noticed that some of the features of this website are missing, these are: the ability to post photos, other types of images and videos, the ability to create stories for Instagram, and there is no option for direct messaging so you are unable to message. There is also not much range in colour on the website, which makes it very boring. There was clearly more time put into the app as it has all the features, is well organised, colourised and structured which makes it visually pleasing. The fact that you can't do much with the website tells me that they may have made the website as marketing for the app. After comparing I think that the app is much better than the website.
YouTube: Website vs. App

After comparing the app and the website, there are differences in layout, as you can see in the images above, on a mobile phone, the screen is smaller which means we can only see the whole of one and almost the whole of another video. Whereas on the website, the screen is much larger on a computer, so you can see lots more than one video. However the app and website look very similar in terms of the navigational elements, they use the same icons for the same bits which means the user will not get confused, the only thing that has changed about the navigation bar is where it is positioned.
With this in mind it is hard to decide on what I prefer to use, this is because they are both very similar and just as good, when it comes to uploading, the app cannot upload, but the computer can, the computer also allows you to see more videos to choose from at once, but the app is more simplistic when it comes to streaming, so I like them both as much as each other.
